Job Description:

Northern Valley Regional High School District is seeking responsible and motivated High school or college students to join our custodial team as Summer Custodial Helpers. This seasonal position provides an excellent opportunity to gain work experience, contribute to maintaining a clean and safe school environment, and earn money during the summer break. Under the supervision of custodial staff, you will assist with a variety of cleaning and light maintenance tasks to prepare the school for the upcoming school year.

Responsibilities: Assist with general cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors in classrooms, hallways, and common areas. Wipe down surfaces such as desks, tables, windows, and door handles. Empty trash cans and recycling bins throughout the school. Help move and arrange furniture, such as chairs, desks, or equipment, as directed. Support custodial staff with minor outdoor tasks, such as picking up litter or sweeping walkways. Restock supplies like paper towels, soap, and toilet paper in restrooms and other areas. Follow safety guidelines and use cleaning equipment and supplies properly. Qualifications: Current high school student, at least 16 years or college student. Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team. Reliable, punctual, and willing to complete tasks with attention to detail. Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, and carry items up to 50 pounds. No prior experience required; on-the-job training will be provided. Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Working Conditions: Work will primarily take place indoors, with occasional outdoor tasks. Comfortable, closed-toe shoes and appropriate work attire required.

Rate: $20.00/hour not to exceed 25 hours/week.

Additional Employment Requirements:

• Approved criminal history background check for district 3710
• Pass the Trash approval
• Proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
• Current residency in New Jersey or approved residency waiver, or candidate agreement to obtain residency within one year of employment.
