Job Responsibilities Under limited supervision collects evidence, analyzes facts, legal theories, and processes, and recommends disposition of employment discrimination complaints. Counsels complainants, respondents and attorneys regarding Commission procedures and requirements, standards of proof, relief, and relevant State and Federal laws; prepares investigative requests for data and documents, conducts formal interviews of witnesses and parties, and conducts on‑site investigations. Analyzes complainants’ and respondents’ defense and all relevant records to determine whether a complaint has merit; prepares analysis and letters of determination to be issued by the Commission; determines potential respondent liabilities and recommends corrective action. Negotiates and prepares pre‑determination settlements and drafts conciliation agreements embodying provisions necessary to remedy discriminatory employment practices in accordance with applicable laws. Completes investigations of cases within 180 days from assignment and maintains knowledge of State and Federal laws. Provides information, advice and assistance regarding individuals’ rights and general provisions and obligations to respondents, complainants, groups and organizations; offers assistance to employers to ensure compliance with relevant laws. Minimum and Additional Requirements A high school diploma and relevant program experience. An official, certified copy may be required before hiring or within a specific timeframe; failure to provide this may result in non‑employment or termination. Position requires frequent lifting up to 20 lbs., occasional local travel, and ability to work under stress and deadlines. Preferred Qualifications A bachelor's degree and relevant program experience.
