Now Hiring: Electronics Repair Technician

Component‑Level Troubleshooting & Soldering Required

We’re looking for a hands‑on Electronics Repair Technician who thrives on diagnosing failures, soldering at the component level, and restoring electronic equipment to full working condition. If you enjoy teardown, troubleshooting, and precise rework—and you’re confident with schematics and test equipment—this role will give you meaningful, technical work every day.

Job Description

The Repair Technician is responsible for troubleshooting and processing equipment returned by customers for repair or exchange. This role requires sound judgment to work with general supervision on routine tasks and detailed instructions on new assignments. The technician troubleshoots to the component level to determine equipment failure and compares findings with customer complaints. The technician also prepares repair estimates, performs rework modifications, and ensures equipment functions according to specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and process equipment returned by customers for repair or exchange.
  • Use sound judgment to work with general supervision on routine tasks.
  • Troubleshoot to component level to determine equipment failure and compare findings with customer complaints.
  • Prepare repair estimates and obtain customer approvals.
  • Perform rework modifications, updates, and realignments to return equipment to working order.
  • Document corrective actions taken to restore returned equipment to working order.
  • Perform testing to ensure equipment functions according to specifications.
  • Inspect finished products to verify conformance to industry and workmanship standards.
  • Document failure codes and repair information on company systems.
  • Identify problems with products and procedures and report them to the RD Lead or Supervisor.
  • Address any service/reliability issues that arise.
  • Initiate Engineering Action Requests (EAR) to address issues.

Essential Skills

  • Soldering, including on surface mount components.
  • Proficiency in using testing programs such as AGILE and MES.
  • Ability to troubleshoot to the component level.
  • Schematic reading and ability to interpret manufacturing information.
  • Proficiency in using common hand tools and operating required test equipment.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Soldering expertise.
  • Testing skills.
  • Computer savvy.
  • Preferred: Associate's degree in Electronics Technology, Technical School or Certificate, or equivalent combination of education/experience including understanding of basic electronics theory.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Work Environment

The work environment requires frequent contact outside the department or company, and the noise level is usually quiet to moderate, with occasional loud noise. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts, in high, precarious places, and is exposed to fumes and/or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, and is regularly at risk of electric shock.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
