Brief Summary of Work for this Position The College of Humanities, Social Sciences, and the Arts is seeking temporary/part-time faculty, for the academic year 2026-2027, with the ability to teach in one or more of the following Humanities departments and disciplines:
- Communication Studies
- English
- Graduate Liberal Studies
- History
- Philosophy and Religion
- UNCW Gender Studies and Research Center
- World Languages and Cultures
The academic year 2026-2027 includes:
- Summer 2026
- Fall 2026
- Spring 2027
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Undergraduate course teaching: Masters degree with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline from a regionally accredited institution.
Graduate course teaching: Terminal degree in the teaching discipline from a regionally accredited institution.
Those with equivalent verifiable professional experience, certifications, and licensures in the discipline may also be considered.

The 16 departments within the college consist of Anthropology, Art & Art History, Communication Studies, Creative Writing, English, Film Studies, Graduate Liberal Studies, History, International Studies, Music, Philosophy & Religion, Public & International Affairs, Sociology & Criminology, Theatre, Gender Studies and Research Center, World Languages and Cultures.
